Responsibilities
  • Learning and Development: Participate in a structured learning program designed to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of agricultural policies, research methodologies, and food security initiatives.
  • Research Support: Assist in conducting research activities, collecting data, and analyzing information to support evidence-based decision-making in agriculture.
  • Policy Implementation: Contribute to the implementation of agricultural policies and programs aimed at enhancing sustainability and food security in the Western Cape.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with various stakeholders, including farmers, industry experts, and government officials, to gain insights into the agriculture sector's challenges and opportunities.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance to the APFYD team, which may include document preparation, data entry, and coordination of meetings and workshops.
  • Professional Development: Actively participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance your skills and knowledge in the agriculture field.
Qualifications
  • Minimum educational requirement: Matric (Grade 12) certificate.
  • Passion for agriculture and a genuine interest in contributing to the sector's growth.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • South African citizenship or permanent residency.
