Responsibilities
  • Content Creation: Assist in the creation of engaging and informative content for various platforms, including social media, the ISS website, and other communication channels.
  • Media Monitoring: Monitor news outlets and social media platforms for relevant security-related content, and provide regular updates to the communication team.
  • Social Media Management: Contribute to the management of ISS social media accounts by drafting posts, scheduling content, and engaging with online communities.
  • Research Support: Conduct research on communication trends, audience engagement strategies, and relevant security topics to support the development of communication materials.
  • Event Support: Assist in the planning and coordination of communication-related events, including webinars, press conferences, and workshops.
Qualifications
  • Educational Background: Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Communication, Journalism, International Relations, or a related field.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in additional languages is an asset.
  • Digital Literacy: Familiarity with social media platforms, content management systems, and basic graphic design tools.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural and interdisciplinary team environment.
  • Passion for Security Issues: Demonstrated interest in international security, peace, and governance in Africa.
